Who We Are

Who We Are

On behalf of the faculty and staff, it is my honor to welcome you to our school.

QAD is an IB continuum school that offers international education while preserving the local culture. It is a place where students are empowered to reach their potential and are supported to develop as the leaders of the future. We pride ourselves on being a learning community that recognizes the challenges of the modern world and strives to equip the students to face them by offering a plethora of curricular and extra-curricular learning experiences.

As an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school, QAD offers the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) within an inquiry-based framework that encourage both personal development and academic achievement and help develop well rounded global citizens.  In addition to the MYP and DP Programmes, a strong National Program of Arabic and Islamic Studies ensures our students are academically proficient in both English and Arabic and reflects our commitment to the local culture and  to Qatar Foundation’s direction towards dual language  .

At the heart of these programmes is the IB Learner Profile that complements our own guiding statements and values seeking to achieve our vision to “empower students to achieve high levels of academic growth and personal wellbeing and to be responsible citizens who are locally rooted and globally connected.”

Our academic programmes are delivered by passionate, experienced, and committed educators who hold students and their learning and growth  at the center of their daily work while ensuring a strong partnership with parents and an outreach to the local and the global communities within and beyond our campus and the rich ecosystem of Education City.

I look forward to welcoming you to QAD.

Warm regards,

Mirna Raslan

IB DP Coordinator

A Lebanese-Australian educator and mom of two, Zeina has come to hold the position of IB DP coordinator at QAD as of 2019 equipped with over 25 active years of versatile, international education experience.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics and formal training as a High School Mathematics Teacher, she worked for the Department of Education of New South Wales on several district projects before making the decision to move with her family overseas. She taught and coordinated Math in schools in Australia, Qatar and Lebanon, but the last 13 years of her career have been at Qatar Academy Doha, where she has been fortunate to explore and engage in the IB DP program from its head start.

Having been a grade level leader and advisor, and being an IB mathematics examiner and IA moderator, she continually fostered positive relationships with students and their families over the duration of her tenure at QAD. In her new capacity as IB DP coordinator, she will work with the grades 11 and 12 teams towards supporting students to become life-long learners and active participants in the construction of knowledge.

An avid life-long learner herself and a believer in on-going professional development, Zeina has accumulated numerous hours of training and capacity building and is looking forward to helping QAD students achieve their full potential.
